It's a subject that bothers me much.

At what stage do the 'ordinary' people come together and speak with a voice that is taken notice of?

It happened during the Poll tax introduction (why not when other unjust taxes were introduced?).

It happened when fuel prices rose, once (why not after every increase?)

It happened, most recently, over the MPs expenses scandal (but nothing since)

I can only presume it happens when some form of organisation is applied. I don't mean a central petition, or a committee, or anything normally thought of when talking about organising. I mean something that triggers indignation and anger from multiple unconnected people, that grows, until the combined indignation & anger cannot be ignored by those at the top.

This organisation might be the power of the Internet, someone like you, and like minded people, putting their thoughts on here for anyone to read. Perhaps there needs to be a critical mass of similar opinion being expressed at the same time, then people read it, and realise their own indignation and anger is shared and they are not alone.

After all, we are more likely to speak up if we know there are others who share our thoughts.

I hope you carry on blogging in the way you are. You are a normal bloke with the gift of expressing your thoughts coherently on paper. People, like me, who do not have this talent, need people like you to give credence and validity to our own thoughts.

Good post, well done.Brishankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02029818082633977965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6091725511821029654.post-85126945881399987802009-10-27T13:25:58.206+00:002009-10-27T13:25:58.206+00:00I think the public are misguided in their beliefs....I think the public are misguided in their beliefs.

It more sensible for MPs to employ their partners to manage their diary and act as their PAs than it would be to employ a stranger.

And it saves the taxpayer money, because the partners will work 24/7 and will do whatever is required whereas a "nornal" employee would not, at least not without being paid an exorbitant salary.Indyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04383904151475839441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6091725511821029654.post-37904591895701180652009-10-27T03:03:24.878+00:002009-10-27T03:03:24.878+00:00Dunno if this is more akin to Dogging or plain old...Dunno if this is more akin to Dogging or plain old fashioned Swinging.bannedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02406037760273820029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6091725511821029654.post-34544611743387500742009-10-27T02:45:43.904+00:002009-10-27T02:45:43.904+00:00I think we'll have to wait and see what the To...I think we'll have to wait and see what the Tories bring in with their idea of "small" governement.
