There is likely to be further spy additions. It is not widely reported but there are trials going on with experimental spectrometers which 'see' untaxed fuels in exhaust trails.
I'm sure the Yanks had developed real-time exhaust gas analysers years ago. The intention was to spot any vehicles which weren't complying with emission regulations. I can't remember what became of them...
