The other day that the digs I'm staying in has Wi-Fi.
I'm still away from home and I'm not sure if I have the frame of mind, (or the time), for blogging. There is much to blog about though, that's for sure.
Is it still okay to call Scottish politicians front bottoms? I've been away that long, just wondering...

Just one more post....(lettergate)
Right, I have an hour or so before I need to go. I wasn't going to bother writing but I simply must.
I've had a perusal around the blogosphere and as expected the main topic today is Gordon's sloppy letter and the backlash.
Now, I am well aware that I'm known as an occasional 'tin foil hat' wearer. Some of my views can be wildly different from others and I like to throw in a curve ball to the debate now and again. And today is no different.
The differing opinions of the 'letter-gate' incident range from the 'he's disabled, you know. It's not his fault' to the 'he's a hopless twat and ot should have been checked first'. All fairly valid points.
But, (pulls on tin foil hat), here is my take on the whole thing.
It was a set up.
Think about it. Do you seriously think that the PM would just send out a letter off the cuff without any of his 'advisors' knowing about it or checking it? He has his own copy, no one copies a 'personal' letter!
An increasingly desperate man at the head of an increasingly desperate government will do anything, absolutely anything, to cling on to power.
I'm pretty sure that he knew the letter would end up in the press. And I'm pretty sure the reaction he was looking for was slightly different than the one he got.
The reaction he was looking for was more along the lines of 'that poor man must be so tired trying to save the world. Look, he has made so many mistakes in his letter. He must be a brave soul to battle on, with his bad eye and that. And it must be from the heart because he wrote this himself and no one checked it before it went out. What a good caring, hard working PM we have. He's got my vote...'
If I am widly wrong, just ask yourself this. Would you put it past the bastards to try it?
Right, now I must go. Ta ta for now!!

Goodbye for now...
Well folks, I'll be disappearing from the blogosphere for a while.
I may pop in now and again if I am able. I can't see me posting anything for a few weeks though. So, keep me on your blog rolls!
And before anyone asks, no, I'm not going to jail!
As Big Arnie says, I'll be back....

Glasgow North East - Labour campaign headquarters
Yes, I know it's a re-post but it's too good not to use again.
Sunday, November 8, 2009
An amazing coincidence!
With the Glasgow North East by election just around the corner, I'm sure it is just coincidence that the following has happened recently...
Postal vote applications granted - 6,065 (2005 figure 2419).
Constituency voters roll total on the 1st October 2009 = 60,037. Voters roll at the end of October = 62,475. A huge increase of 2,438.
The massive increase in postal votes mirror those in the Glenrothes by election last year. 80% of the postal votes granted in Glenrothes were used.
Labour controlled Glasgow City Council have this to say,
“It's worth mentioning that we have been carrying out a lot of publicity recently to encourage people to register to vote.”
“We have increased the number of full time canvassers working in the city and most of these have been prioritising the Glasgow North East constituency. We are using our canvassers to capture the increased interest given a by-election is being held.”
“There were also adverts in national newspapers (Record, Sun, Metro) and Evening Times, Radio Clyde, plus advertising in outdoor locations, on the Glasgow Subway and elsewhere.”
“In addition, the Electoral Commission carried out some PR last week to encourage people to register etc.”
Interesting...

A Prime Ministers favourite card...
From Monopoly, EU edition
The leader of Blue Labour, David Cameron, has fooled no one. Not even himself.
All his words the other day mean nothing. I know it, you know it and the Tory grass roots know it.
Barring a miracle, he will be the next Prime Minister.
But he is not a 'prime minister in waiting', he is a traitor in waiting. Another Gordon Brown, except with two good eyes. That's the only difference I can see. A career politician with the top job nearly his. As dangerous to this country as Gordon and his cronies have proven to be.
The 'grudged acceptance' of the Lisbon Treaty he acted out the other day, along with the referendum U turn actually suits him down to the ground.
Think about it. It suits Gordon as well.
It takes the heat off of them. They can wash their hands of any issues the the EU have a say in. They can shrug their shoulders and point at Brussels. 'Not my fault', will be the cry, 'a big boy did it and ran away'.
Why would the big political boys here in the UK try to rock the boat when it has the potential to make their political lives easier?
They spout speeches, give press conferences, write newspaper articles. Saying this and that. Then the crunch comes and they back track. Talking the talk but not walking the walk. 'It's too late, that ship has already sailed'.
Nonsense. All they have to say is no. Stuff their 'treaties' and rules. Just a no would be enough, after a referendum. (A proper referendum, not the version the Irish were shafted with).
But it will never happen. Because being tied up in knots by the EU suits them down to the ground.

An Obituary.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.
He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
Why the early bird gets the worm;
Realising that life isn't always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate;
Teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch;
A teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sunscreen or an Aspirin to a student; but could
not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot.
She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was predeceased
by his parents, Truth and Trust;
by his wife, Discretion;
by his daughter, Responsibility and
by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I am a Victim
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Number ten's response to petition.
Wednesday 4 November 2009
--------------------------------------------------------------------
No matter. He'll be out on his arse come election time.
please-go - epetition response
We received a petition asking:
“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to resign.”
Details of Petition:
“There are many reasons why we might want Brown to resign, but rather than having lots of narrow petitions on this topic (most of which have been rejected), I wanted one for all of us.”
• Read the petition
• Petitions homepage
Read the Government’s response
The Prime Minister is completely focussed on restoring the economy, getting people back to work and improving standards in public services. As the Prime Minister has consistently said, he is determined to build a stronger, fairer, better Britain for all.--------------------------------------------------------------------
No matter. He'll be out on his arse come election time.
Not with our money!!
'What do we want? - TAX PAYERS MONEY!'
'When do we want it? - NOW!'
(Glasgow looks remarkably like Washington DC these days...)
Protesters in Glasgow have staged a candlelight protest outside a theatre which is staging a play portraying Jesus as a trannie. (Not a small portable radio, the other kind...).
Fair enough, they have the right to protest just as the theatre group have the right to stage the play. I couldn't give a toss. But...
The play is part of a festival called 'Glasgay'. Yep, you guessed it. Glasgow's very own festival of bumming, rug munching and wanting to cut your knob off. Again, fairy enough, (did you see what I did there?), who am I to criticise if that floats your boat.
The festival is being funded by Glasgow City Council, (which in turn is funded by the tax payer), and the Scottish Arts Council, (which is receiving £48,140,000 of it's £61, 060,000 budget this year from the Scottish Government, other wise known as the tax payer).
So, council tax payers of Glasgow, next time you walk past a school badly in need of repairs or a community centre ear marked for closure bear in mind come election time the priorities of your Labour led council.
Update - there is also this.
Bastards.

Global warming loons do not like it up 'em.
Watch the video to see how a dissenting voice against the 'global warming' nonsense is dealt with.
The chap asking Al Gore the question is Phelim McAleer, who made the documentary 'Not Evil, Just Wrong'.
His documentary challenged the facts behind Gore's film, 'An Inconvenient Truth'. Al Gore's film is currently shown to American and British schoolchildren as part of their education.
As with many other 'causes' the global warming loons do not tolerate any opposition. Mr McAleer and his family have received death threats and abusive letters for daring to point out glaring errors in Gore's movie.
Thought crimes will not be tolerated.

They just don't get it, do they?
It is either breathtaking stupidity or breathtaking arrogance that the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body has agreed that any claims by MSP's for poppy wreaths will be treated as a 'legitimate expense'.
The SPCB is made up of an MSP from each of the four main parties and the Hollyrood presiding officer, Alex Ferguson.
In a spectacular own goal, they have given the green light to claiming for poppy wreaths, which cost an average of £16. An MSP earns around £53,000 a year. Plus expenses of course.
You would have thought that they would have kept their collective heads down and wised up. But no.
Members of the SPCB are -
Send them an e mail. I have.
Dear Parasite,
Imagine my surprise when I read that you and pals on the SPCB saw fit to allow the claiming of poppy wreaths by MSP's as a 'legitimate expense'.
I'm not sure if you are aware, but the reputation of politicians has taken a few knocks of late.
So, are you completely stupid? Or is it just plain old arrogance and disdain for those you are supposed to serve/represent?
I hope your constituents remember your part in this come election time.
My readers would be interested in any comments you have on the matter.
love and kisses,
Rab.
I've sent them a link to this post too. I'm sure they will read the comments. Let them know your thoughts!!

WooHoo! Who said shite doesn't burn!
AN effigy of the Prime Minister will be burned at the bonfire night and fireworks celebrations in Ripon next week. The organisers, Ripon Gunpowder Plot, decided to make a giant Gordon Brown figure after consulting with sponsors and members of the public about whose face they would like to see on the Guy at the event, which takes place at Hell Wath on Friday, November 6.
