Aufmerksamkeit! Pässe am bereiten zur Kontrolle.

Papiere gefallen.

It appears that Strathclyde's finest have decided to, or have been told to, check the passports of passengers arriving at Prestwick Airport.

Passengers on domestic flights, that is.

Just what business it is of the police to be checking passports is anyone's guess. Checking the passports of international passengers is the job of the UKBA.

So why are they checking passports and what happens to those who refuse to play their stupid game? It's not an offence to travel without a valid passport on a domestic flight.

In my opinion they powers that be are just testing our 'compliance threshold'. If the sheeple happily play along with this, what's next?

Or, as usual Alex Salmond being a dick, and trying to mark Scotland as 'separate'.

Subtle ways make for seamless transitions. At some point, friendly Bobby was replaced by mobile Zapper with headcam rasping "Papieren bitte" from an electronic voicebox. Heil Hi....er

I'll hit the escape button now, Rab.

The sheeple will accept anything.....simple as.

We are facing and Orwellian nightmare....and I don't think there is anything we can do about it.....other than complete civil unrest.....but that also plays into the hands of the powers that be and would be used as an excuse to execute further infringements into cvil liberties...

We are fucked.

Yep, got it in one, Rab. I bet the “authorities” are shaking their heads in disbelief at our capacity for putting up with their crap.

Copy of summat I put on another Scottish Unofficial Blog

The Strathclyde Polis have always had a desk at Glasgow Airport for incoming flights from Belfast.

I remember a stooshie when two Ulstermen, who were going to the rugby international, were asked for their passports.

I know they were Polis in those days, five or six years ago, because despite their lack of uniform my inquisitor was a sergeant at Paisley nick and a mate.

Incidentally I always carry my Identity Card with me.

It was issued to me 8 days after my birth in Glasgow and is now no longer valid, it has no photo of me then or until 16, but it is the only fucking ID card I will ever carry.

It makes you even consider getting on a Ryanair return flight just to argue with the Bastards.

These powers will be extended to all internal modes of transport - they will be following your every move. This has nothing to do with Salmond - this has MI5 and Whitehall 1212 written all over it.

Where have you guys been?

"Now passengers need ID to travel within Britain

18 November 2007

Source: Thisislondon.co.uk

Passengers on domestic flights and ferries between mainland Britain and Northern Ireland will be required to carry identity papers for the first time from next year.

The move will effectively establish a highly controversial internal border within the UK and could pave the way for identity checks on all domestic flights and ferries in Britain.

Once operational, the system will allow the police to build up a complete picture of passenger movements between Ulster and the mainland.

And it will enable them to carry out background checks to identify suspected criminals and potential terrorists.

The move comes as police and security services are pushing for wider access to information on passenger movements within Britain, whether by air, sea or national rail and coach networks."
