This week, we've had this and this from the polis, with the fantastic quote from Les Gray of the Scottish Police Federation....
"The people will not be safe on the streets”
Yes, quite Les. Perhaps the polis can prioritise the cuts a touch better. Getting rid of desk jockeys and big shiny 4x4 'company' cars for the senior officers would be a decent start. To be fair to Les he has the interests of his membership at heart and I understand his position.
However, over to Glasgow City Council for the cuts headline of the day...
'Fruit off the menu as council battle cuts'
Seems to me that our services are playing silly buggers. As I mentioned in a previous post, just shut your mouths and do your jobs. Properly.
Simples.

They do that here too, Rab. Chicago police force has been cut to the bone. I hope you don't get lots of crime waves now, like we have.
Hi Bunni, problem is, over here they won't cut what needs to be cut. They'll keep on with their pet projects and right on bullshit.
Never forget that when government types talk about “cuts”, what they mean is that spending won't increase by as much as projected. Next year, the British government will spend more of our money than it ever has before. As always. Yes, always*.
Dead right, though, Rab: there will be genuine cuts in some areas... in order to protect budget increases elswere. Coppers, nurses and squaddies will get the boot so we can have arts festivals, international sports days, and be harangued about what we stuff in our cakeholes.
Of course they're playing silly buggers. Civil servants are like spoilt children. “Now look what the nasty stingy Tories made us do...”
*With one exception: 1978. Can you guess which party was in power, children? Tsk, those pesky Labour cuts, eh?
what are councils doing keeping puppies anyway?
well done!!!!!
keep continue...
